Outboard Configuration

For the inboard/outboard configuration, other wise known as a I/O configuration:

  • Removal of the lower dive unit as an entire unit. Grease the drive shaft spline, grease and check drive shaft u-joints, check for water and oil in the drive shaft bellows, check bellows for damage, check drive shaft bearing, grease bearing, check housing gaskets & o'rings.

  • Drain gear lube from drive housing and gear housing, re-fill with high performance Mercury gear lube.

  • Stabilize fuel.

  • Grease trailer wheel bearings.

  • Change engine oil and filter.

  • Run motor until normal operating temperature is achieved. Drain the motor of all water, flush motor with coolant if necessary.

  • Lubricate necessary moving parts at the motor.

 Inboard boats

  • Stabilize fuel.

  • Grease trailer wheel bearings.

  • Change engine oil and filter.

  • Check transmission fluid change if necessary.

  • Check under water running gear.

  • Run motor until normal operating temperature is achieved. Drain the motor of all water, flush motor with coolant if necessary.

  • Lubricate necessary moving parts at the motor.
